Module 4
Parents are very interesting. For this Module I was able to observe parent and student interaction at the child care center that I have been observing. I find it very interesting that there are parents that care so much and then there are parents that care so less. It is horrible to see the interactions that some children lack with their parents compared to many other children. Especially at a very young age- it is crucial that parents are involved in their child's life and when you see that, that is not happening it really makes you want to hug that child and cry for them. I know all parents are different but I think that there is a fine line. Children need crucial interactions with their parents. Children need parts that are involved in their educational process and their learning of life. I was able to also see how some parents come to the center to pick up their children and some parents talk to the teachers and even the child themselves and just asking them about their day and their experiences with the other children that day. It is very nice to see this happen and then you also see the parents that come to the door- ask for their child to come out and their gone for the day. VERY SAD. There will always be parents that are like this but it is just sad to see it happen. All we can do as teachers and caregivers is provide the best experiences for the students as possible and to make those experiences fun and educational. We need to make learning fun for the students and we need to provide parents with the understanding and knowledge of how important their child's education is.
